Become a Fan, Follower or Subscriber of the BWS on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube & Nixle. Extra! Extra! Read all about the Board of Water Supply (BWS) on our new official social media sites on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, Tumblr, and Nixle! As social media usage on the Internet continues to rise on Oahu, the BWS will use these sites to connect with its customers in a new way. BWS social networking sites on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, and Tumblr serve as additional communication channels to promote water conservation messages and BWS activities such as our xeriscape workshops, the Halawa Xeriscape Garden Open House and Unthirsty Plant Sale, and the Water Conservation Week Poster and Poetry Contests. The BWS will begin using the Nixle communication service to distribute emergency updates and traffic advisories pertaining to water-related emergencies to the community via email and/or text message. Nixle is a secure and free service available to public agencies - this service is also used by the City Department of Emergency Management and the Honolulu Police Department. Those interested may create a free account by logging on to www.nixle.com. Additionally, please read the BWS's social media policy which outlines general guidelines of our social media use.
